KAREN MCNEILL

Karen has over 17 years of experience of mechanical, forensic engineering and health and safety, acting as technical Expert on over 200 occasions.

 

Karen gained design experience working on projects for the Ministry of Defence and various commercial organisations. As it became apparent that health and safety issues were becoming a growing factor in many engineering disputes, she completed her NEBOSH certificate and Diploma in occupational health and safety.

Karen now specialises in Expert and advisory work involving personal and industrial injury, covering health and safety and engineering related issues. Her advice and expertise ranges from safe systems of work, provision and use of work equipment and working at height to manual handling and control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH).

Karen acts as a mechanical and forensic engineering Expert Witness and has prepared evidence for cases in litigation, fatal accident inquiries and arbitration (covering both civil and criminal work). She has been cross-examined in litigation and has authored reports relating to occupational diseases including asbestos exposure, noise exposure, nuisance dusts and hand and arm vibration.

Karen maintains professional development and memberships across engineering, risk and health and safety bodies. She is both trained and experienced in the responsibilities and duties of an expert witness and is highly regarded by clients.
